I’m sharing this to give you something to think about how this can help you shape your thinking about today and tomorrow. There is no right or wrong answer. Its about what matters to you.

In a series of on line brainstorming sessions, this owner was able to articulate a longer view of steps for his business
An owner’s successive efforts finally evolved into this view , “ Its means What I Say, and Says What I Mean!” His business over time, started and then he began in think of what he hoped for into the future. Imagine how this made him feel in sensing control, seizing on design of his road map. and being able to execute this with people who understood him!
Note how none of this about how to “run” the business or enterprise. As the owner began to understand, this effort led to conversations about expanding thinking about the business and future entities.
Again, notice this ladder was designed to focus on his choice of of what success and family wealth would look like; capital building activities and fostering entrepreneurship. This owner also found his own role and wealth building in this. These are not atypical wants. Each of these steps can become a next ladder. Note wealth management does not dominate the ladder. This is the risk of using financial advisors and other more traditional advisers, exclusively. There will be a stage when transitioning ownership and leadership does become front and center. Most business families would not normally know this is step in their parent’s thinking. This is why it appears in ladder construct.

The next blog will be how is it possible to do this?
